SSP Meeting Monday, Sept. 16: Get an insider's view to policing in Stow
On Monday, Sept. 16 at 7 pm, the discussion of policing in Stow continues, with Stow Police Captain Brian Snavely, who will be the guest speaker at the Stow Sunshine Project's next meeting in the Community Room at the Safety Center building at 3800 Darrow Rd. (parking is behind City Hall).
Last month, Stow Police Chief Jeff Film gave attendees of the Stow Sunshine Project meeting a detailed history of the Stow Police Department and a discussion on current and past crime rates in the city. In a nutshell, we have a relatively safe city, with shoplifting and property theft being the most common types of criminal activity in Stow.
Snavely will offer an inside look into the modern techniques the Stow Police Department employs to keep residents and neighborhoods safe, including the recently installed Flock traffic cameras. The traffic cameras have enabled Stow police to help catch criminals who pass through Stow as well as ones that originate in our city. After a discussion about the types of crimes that have been solved with the new traffic cameras, Snavely will give the group a tour of the Safety Center.
The meeting is open to any Stow residents.
